Boston EMS, the municipal emergency medical services provider for the City of Boston, is now accepting applications for the position of Emergency Medical Technician. This is an exciting career opportunity with benefits, labor union membership and participation in the state retirement system. Boston EMS responds solely to requests for emergency pre-hospital care. All new EMT hires are placed in a 6-month paid training academy offering both classroom and field based instruction.

Safety Coordinator- EMT-B
Responsibilities:
Provide safety assistance and educate employees on safety protocols
Initiate and implement safety measures in work areas per OSHA/EHS safety requirements
Inspect work area premises for hazardous elements
Ensure first aid treatment is provided immediately to injured employees
Strictly adhere to corporate safety guidelines and procedures
Supervise and oversee the temporary associates and responses to requests for time off, ensuring that sufficient, accurate and timely information is distributed
Monitor temporary associate work activity
Notify candidates of any upcoming changes that may affect their work schedule in a timely manner
Respond to general face-to-face, telephone or e-mail enquiries relating to employment issues and to ensure levels of supervisory services are maintained in the absence of the account manager
Maintain accurate communication between account manager, temp associate and supervisors
The hours can be flexible but must cover Monday through Friday between 7-7 pm. Essentially we would like 40 hours per week and the client runs 2 shifts. The pay is $12 per hour. We love the EMT experience as the nature of the business tends to lend to workplace injuries. Having someone with that knowledge has been a huge help in guiding the client and the candidate through our workers’’ comp process as well as helping treat minor injuries when they occur.
