This 4 hour continuing education presentation will review the most common drugs of abuse the EMS provider will see in the field. Drug use among all age groups in the United States is on the rise and EMS providers are on the front lines. In this one day course you will not only be able to earn some of your local/individual re-certification hours; but also be able to gain valuable knowledge on one of America’s largest issues.

Learn the history behind some of the most commonly abused drugs, clinical signs, symptoms, immediate effects on the body, long term effects on the body and EMS treatments for drug overdoses. Students will be challenged with case studies prior to learning about each drug of abuse and they will be able to respond to simulations produced by both the students and instructor.
